do we have a list somewhere on the Forums of GOOD dealer experiences with our CRD'S ?
A list (by state) of Jeep dealers that "get it" would be very helpful to those of us who, for whatever reason, are unable to handle maintenance issues with our Libertys.
For example, I would love to do the timing belt change myself, but cannot due to lack of no garage--and I'm not doing it in the driveway in December !
So far I have spoken to 2 dealers in my area. One didn't seem to care at all--the other seemed quite knowledgeable about CRD'S and listed all of the parts they replace at timing belt change.
(including cam shaft gears--which I hadn't considered).
A list of POSITIVE experiences would be great---NO NEGATIVE comments allowed. This should not turn in to a dealer-bashing list !

Not to bash he dealer but...
I've replaced MANY timing belts on VW's gas and diesel engines. Some were over 200,000 miles and I have never seen a toothed pulley that even remotly needed replacing

But maybe some have. Yes I replace the tensioner, water pump when driven by the tb belt, and various ideler rollers.

I look for honest dealers  They are all expensive and most oly see a few CRD's but I believe a good mechanic given the oppertunity can do a good job on them.
I can recommend Crown Chrysler/Jeep in Dublin, out skirts of Columbus, in Ohio.

I have an extended warranty. It calls for a $100 per visit. On the last visit they needed to order a ps rack. After 3 months it came in and I was liable for the $100 that was fine. It was discovred the caster and camber were off that was not caused by replacing the rack and it would be $89 plus tax additional. So I said go ahead.

They just called and it's finished and they are not going to charge the $100 deductuable just for the alignment. That's hard to beat. Under the basic warranty it was another situation but I feel dealers hands were tied by Chrysler when they were new :2cents:

I found a pretty good dealer in OK. They are Quinn Chrysler Jeep in Bartlesville, about 40 miles north of Tulsa. I won't say they are cheap, but they have a couple good diesel mechs who aren't daunted by the CRD. They fixed a coolant leak that occurred on the highway. An egr cooler hose on the back of the block. I could see the fluid leaking but couldn't see the source. I was out of town so I took it in. They also documented my tc shudder so that if it doesn't really go south until after my 70k it can still be fixed under warranty. (It didn't act up when they drove it).
Not to make a negative comment, but when I called my local chrysler/jeep dealer service dept with a question, the service manager said "You have a Liberty with a diesel?". I got the feeling that he didn't really believe me.

Needless to say, Quinn will handle any warranty work for me for the existing 8k.

Larry Miller in Sandy, UT at least knows that a CRD exists and were the only place that could get the alignment right.

Great experiance with NW Jeep chrystler Dodge here in Portland Oregon area. They do a ton of work on cummins pickups and sprinter. I have had long talks with the service guys about the dealerships that just don't get it. I even have the extended chrystler warranty and show up to get the Jeep serviced with the map censor viscus heater removed and the ehm chugging with a straight pipe. The guys love it and never give me crap. I think they realize with these optional mods in place they save money by replacing parts less.

Oregon has a high population of CRDs we love our Bio fueled vehicals out here.

Cheers.

Shelbyville Chrysler Products in Shelbyville, KY needs a shout out. They had at least a half-dozen or more CRDs on the lot when these were new, and they have diesel mechanics there than know about them too. I always go there if something big comes up.

Sorry I cant add to the list, I have never let a dealer touch my engine. Just brought it in for a couple of Libby recalls.
