The MAP is located pretty high up on the engine intake. Therfore when shutting down any oil vapors or soot will migrate back up to the highest location in the intake. I suspect you will find some soot and oil regardless of what you do.

I've put about 13,000 miles on the Jeep since then. I've been running the GDE HOT tune and the EHM the entire time. Been using Shell Rotella 5W40 full syn oil. Just out of curiosity I pulled my MAP sensor to see what it looks like now. It was covered it soot again!

I find this very odd, I've been running with the ORM for 65k miles now, and EHM for the last 20k at least. I haven't needed to clean my MAP sensor in 30k miles. I pull it and check, but its still perfectly clean. Maybe there was some residual crap in your intake that clogged it back up? I don't know what else to think.

The replacement hoses are made of a different compound and I'm not aware of any of the updated hoses failing, however there have been a number of Samcos which have failed. My Updated hoses have 145000km and 48000Km with no sign of sweating.

Unless I've missed a bunch of posts, there was only one recorded failure of a Samco hose.

Also, the Samco Hoses smell like fried chicken!

?????????????????? - I remember 1 case where a Samco rubbed and failed. did I miss an outbreak?

Looks like I have become one of the sheep. As I searched for the numerous Samcos which have failed, it seems that all of the posts were referring to just a single Samco failure.

Ok, I'll let ya off on that one. But they DO smell like fried chicken.
