Old Navy used to have an annual diesel summit at his place in Missouri. He had a big piece of land for camping and some near by motels. I never made it, but thought it would be a neat event.

Anyone else think this would be a good idea? Anyone interested in hosting or helping to plan a Jeep Diesel event next spring/summer/fall?

GTG's have been around a long time in the VW TDI world and Old Navy used to have one. There are a lot more then 14,000 TDI's so meets drawing from a 200 mile radius are common and well attended.

There's also a national TDI FEST held every year at popular tourist attractions.

But with only 14,000 CRD's or what's left of them are spread all over North America setting one up would be a project.

If someone sets this up, be sure to take pictures and post.

I'm willing to host if anyone would drive down South.Got a nice piece of land with several campspots.Spring would be a great time for the sweet scent of native Rhododendron, and still a bit of cool in the air.
Shags,LW,and Fulltimer have been.

Sounds great Bub. Wonder how many we could get to show up. Are you near Baton Rouge? That would be a 15 hour trip for me. I've driven farther.

How about the car show in St Ignace MI. Last weekend in June.

Very big show, they basically close off the town for the weekend. We could even enter our CRD's. They're pretty much a classic by now and do generate a lot of interest.

Lots of trails for 4wheeling, Mackinac Island, Mackinaw City, Tequamenon Falls, Casinos, and a whole lot of other stuff to do in the area.

That weekend would really be a good time for some sort of meet.

It would actually be closer than Baton Rouge, it's off I-55 north of Hammond, LA. Bout 14 hours down I-55 from you.

I get together every August at Carisle PA at the national truck show with other Ford Truck owners.

They give you a tent and parking if you have a club and about 10 members.

Lots of truck stuff to see and entertainment.

I heard rumor that there's a big anouncement coming about something in UT... several CRD's will be there.... or so the rumor is... but there's no best towing or mpg competitions though.

Not too far. Its around 300 miles north. Most people coming from the south will pass right by it.
