Hello All,

I recently bought JBA's Bilstein struts and shocks for the 08 liberty. I had the struts put in over the weekend and would have had the shocks installed as well, however my mechanic said the Bilstein shock has a larger opening in the eyelet of the shock than the stock shock has. Have any of you experienced this same issue? If so what did you do to fix it? If I were to install the shock the way it is I believe there would be a lot of play were they bolt up.

Thanks in advance for any info.

there should have been sleeves that go inside the bushing to make them the same inside diameter. also when putting the rear shocks in i added a couple washers on either side to the bottom and i believe 4-5 to the top to keep the mounts from crushing while tightening the hardware down because the shocks are also narrower then stock.

get back with Marlin and ask him about the bushing sleeves because i believe they're suppose to come with them. i bought bilstein shocks but not from JBA and they came with them....

Sleeves? Wait a minute I bought Bilsteins rear also but I didn't get any sleeves in my package. I notice that the top is just a bushing and the lower has the bushing + what looks to be like a metal sleeve. So should the top have that too.
So does it need the that metal fitting (sleeve) on the top? If so I will have to contact the company that sold me the shocks.

The sleeves/bushing allow bistein to use this shock for various applications. The sleeve slide in the larger eyelid (opening) making it correct diameter opening for the bolt to go thru to install. The sleeve should have been in the box, but I know mine was missing and the installers made one so they could finish.

Ahh, thanks for the info, I'm contacting Bilstein to see if they can get me the sleeve.
