I have a completely stock 06 liberty limited, while under acceleration the other day my engine started surging. it slowly gains speed but the rpms bounce up and down and the turbo spools up and down. there is also a lot of smoke under acceleration especially when the rpms surge up sometimes it is grayish other times very black. I have cleaned the map and bled the fuel filter to no avail. A cel just came on so when I get a chance Ill post what codes came up. any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Have you checked your boost hoses yet?
low power - lots of smoke are classic blown hose signs
(occasionally accompanied by a pop)

they can also have just a split - so sometimes it's hard to find

Sounds like a busted CAC hose to me. I'd replace both of them at the same time.

Mine did the exact same thing. Ordered new hoses and they just arrived today, AFTER MoparPartsAmerica.com sent them to Florida first for a vacation :SOMBRERO:

Going to install them tomorrow.

Check your order number against the zip code in Florida they were sent to :dizzy: That's how my thermostat from MoparPartsAmerica got it's vacation in Kettle River Mn.
Then they basically ignored my emails to strighten it all out. I finally called Fed-X and it was strightened out in about ten minutes
I'm going to try another online vendor next time I need something :goink:

Thats exactly what happened...... my Zip is 23112 and they sent it to 32112.... :ALONE: They basically ignored me as well and I ended up calling Fedex and they had it to me a couple of days later. I will definitely NOT order thru them again. it was clearly their fault but they wouldn't even own up to it. they had the correct address on my invoice just not on the package :jester:

Oh well the install went fine and everything is perfect again. The Jeep runs GREAT now.
