Has anyone put this rack on a KK? I read in another thread about the KK being wider so I was curious if anyone has tried it out.

I really like the size and shape of the RRO Wilderness rack, as well as being able to mount lights below the top rail.

I'm planning on buying a Thule or Yakima skibox and mounting that on top of the rack so I don't want to have to worry about clearance with the lights. RRO has another rack made for the KK but I would have to worry about the box clearing the lights.

Any thoughts or info would help, thanks!

I haven't. I've got the standard RRO rack.

Check out Surco... thier baskets look just like that RRO wilderness . the 45x50 is the size that will fit the KK. The clamp mounts WILL work... but you need to do a jam-up install so it doesnt come loose. I personally made a custom mount solution that bolts on

That surco basket looks solid as well. What do you mean by jam-up install? And is that for the light mounts or for mounting the basket to the factory rails?

By "jam-up" i guess what i was getting at was that the method to mount via the supplied materials is a little faulty. You need the "clamp mount" adapters, but they tend to let the cross rails slip around on them a bit. Use a little enginuity to anchor the crossrails to those clamp adapters so they dont slip. Yea, and all this is for mounting the crossrails to the roof so you can mount the basket

Gotcha, thanks for the tip! BTW, I've been talking with Ron at Garvin and he and I are working out some mounting options made specifically for the KK. No promises yet, but I'll keep everyone informed as things continue to progress..

Ron from Garvin got back to me, he said the Wilderness Rack made for a Grand Cherokee would fit the KK. Of course he didn't specify ZK, or WK though. I'll shoot him back another email and find out. However it seems like there are enough other racks out there that would fit the needs of most people, as well as have the customizability as the Wilderness rack for much cheaper. I'll keep you guys posted when I do make a decision. I expect it to be within the month...
