So i was looking at my jeep the other day and started to wonder what would happen if i removed the air deflector under the front bumper...so i am curious..

What would happen if i removed the plastic air deflector under the front bumper? :JEEPIN:

You will gain more Approach Angle, More front clearance, Have a cooler looking KK and lose like. 5 MPGs

Its a Jeep, its not made for MPGs, its made to look Bad Arse and to go anywhere you need it to. Losing .2 to .5 MPGs is not noticeable, your foot will make a much bigger difference in MPGs than the air dam will.

And since your lifted 2" the Air Dam is probably rendered useless now that your bumper is up higher. I'm sure if it was put in a wind tunnel with the lift the Air Dam wouldn't save you the same amount of MPGs

Another thing that airdamn does it directs air to your radiator. You will loose some cooling efficiency at higher speeds.

when i removed mine, oh about a month after buying a jeep, i noticed zero negative effects. of course i was already lifted and had larger tires and lost plenty of mpgs already.

ive heard about the whole air flowing over the radiator thing but this is not the first vehicle ive done such a thing to and have never had any ill effects. :2cents:

This maybe somewhat true. I have not heard any issue on the KK if its removed. I left mine on just because my front and is up 5" and it may help give more clearance, but have not need to remove it yet. It has rubbed a few times.

I have heard on some other type of cars that removing this piece will make your car overheat!

You're not trying hard enough! I've bashed my entire bumper before and torn some of it where the winch plate was cut out.

+1! I already took mine off, and this weekend I still just about ripped my bumper off. It's awesome that they're basically snapped together like legos nowadays...
