You're best bet is to hit etrailer.com or gasp, a dealer, and get a plug and play harness. I have one, made by Hoppy, very easy to install. Mine has an extra hot wire that goes to battery, that way trailer lights aren't sucking juice from Liberty, but has own power supply.
( I've heard the Libby's circuits have issues with hookups without extra power supply)
Just takes removed rear pass side panels, unplugging harness, runing hot wire to front and putting all back together..

I got the MOPAR 4 pin when I installed mine back in 04 since I knew I wouldn't be towing anything that needed a 7pin. Opened the rear just like Tahoe pics but just unplugged and pluged in to the MOPAR splitter and then put it all back together again. Total install time might have been 10 minutes.

I couldn't get into it through the tail lights, I had to pull back panel.

I have the same harness as Tahoe and wouldnt have any other harness besides the stock mopar 7 pin harness. The reason he pulled the paneling is b/c he installed the correct harness, not something that taps into the stock tail lights. If you ever plan on towing anything of any size with a lot of lights, batteries to charge, electric brakes, etc, the harness that plugs into the tail lights will not work.

Mine came with the Mopar Hitch and 4 pin harness. is it easy to swap up to the 7 pin if I ever want to tow a camper?

If you open then back like that, then you unplug the tail light harness, plug in the MOPAR trailer hitch and the tail light harness plugs into the trailer harness. NO cutting or splicing wires.

If you wanted to switch from 4 pin MOPAR to 7 pin MOPAR, you would simply open her up unplug, then plug in 7 pin and button it all back up again.

Does the mopar 4 pin harness hook up behind the panel like that?

The kit tahoe and I have, since it has a wire that runs to the battery we can hook up the wire on the 7 pin harness for accessories that can charge batteries, run a fridge on a camper, etc. We can also easily hook into the wire for electric brakes, and power a lot of lights on the trailer that would normally be pulling a load on the jeeps lights.

Yeah it goes back there...No need to remove the seatbelt like the "instruction" show but otherwise very clear and simple. Have to believe that an engineered MOPAR Accessory will function fine 4 or 7 pin.

Id be willing to bet if they don't require a seperate power cable ran that the circuit was built with enough current to run both subsystems.
