Its getting a little cold now and the jeep seems to be having a hard time starting. How can I check the glow plugs? My ford diesel I can just check at the relay but not sure on the jeep.

Also does anyone know of a place that sells them? thanks!

If your plugs are burnt out there will be a CEL. There is a 4 pin connector near the dipstick and intake elbow that you can unplug and measure each plug's resistance to ground. A good one should be about 0.6 ohm.

Check the other stuff like an air leak that causes air into the fuel system that will require more cranking to start. Lift pump solves that problem. Check the battery, have it tested, lots of places will do it for free. If the Battery checks OK, make sure the starter is not dropping the battery voltage too low, I like to see the battery voltage stay at 10 volts minimum when cranking. Make sure you don't have something like a radar detector plugged in and turned on, it will drain the battery and make harder starting. I even unplug my cell phone charger when I am not using it, after five days in the Airport at -10f it will drain the battery some if plugged in.

I don't think its the battery but its OEM so it could be, I'll check it this morning and find out!

Any idea where I can get Gplugs if I need them?

If you have the original battery then it may be getting weak. I doubt glow plugs are the source of your problem. I would have the battery tested. If it's ok then change your fuel filter and bleed the system well. When was your last filter change?

it is the original battery and that's what it seems like it is. I keep forgetting to bring home my fluke from work so I guess I'll just have to have the parts store test it. thanks.
