I am finally about to order my lift and want to ask a couple questions first.
I am planning on going with the OME medium and Rancho RSX17505/RSX17004 (hopefully i can still find them)
After searching some tonight though I read that the 17004 are too long. Is that the case for my application?
also, do i use the teraflex bumpstops on front and rear or just rear?
thanks
Sam

Where did you read that the RSX 17004s were too long, 2nd time in a week I have heard that same BS!
They are the right length and work great
Teraflex bumpstops for the front
hockey pucks ( two per side) work great for the rear drilled and bolted on

After I bent mine, I toyed with the idea but had them straightened instead. Yes, get the JBA replacements, weld them to the inside facing side, and as Scott suggests, you will have to go with shorter shocks since the extended length ones will be way too long.

I am taking a set of OME 132s (not "L"s) off that have about 12,000 miles on them to replace with a set of Rancho RSX 17004s that I found. These are only one inch longer than stock (don't know if that is still going to be too long).

You want 'em?

The 17004's are about 3" longer then stock and about 2.5" longer then the OME N132's.

LOL mechanic huh? :-)r
Sure spend the money and buy regular bumpstops for 25/30 bucks or more, still have to drill a hole to mount them so no real difference

as far as the above comment they were talking about cutting off where the bottom of the shock mounts and welding in new shorter mounts so then they would need shorter shocks more like shock length. That was the gist of it with some misinformation thrown in to confuse people

Thanks Tom for the clarification!
Yeah I would normaly do it my self but I just got diagnosed with a pretty severe herniated c5/c6 disk in my neck so i cant lift or strain until it heals or i get it fused.
What are the normal bumpstops? are the teraflex too short or too long to use in the rear

yes, I have shorter shock mounts, so I need a different length shock.

Crap, I just got a call from the place I ordered my ranchos from. They cant get them. So now I called Advanced and they can only get the 17004 for me. they said i can use kyb g2 for the front. and i get a 20% discount. Would the blistien go better with the rancho 17004 rear? or should i go all Blistien or all KYB. where is a good place that I can order Blisteins from that will be cheap?
thanks!

one other thing i was thinking was using the RS series in the front and getting those RSX for the rear. Is that a bad idea?
I need these soon. my suspension is so saggy my alignment is badly off and tires are wearing bad. I am driving across country at the end of month :?
Thanks

I had KYB on my Nissan Maxima and liked them. Had them coupled with Eibach springs and it improved the ride greatly
Can someone confirm those rear shocks. Trying to figure out why they are different for Durango and Dakota.
Thanks :JEEPIN:
