I put a HID kit in and I love them. I do a lot of traveling in the early morning while it's still dark. I love the way they light up anything reflective too 8)

I just put in Silverstars and they made a good difference. I did have an HID kit but took it out after i found out they were illegal for street use.

Illegal for street use in your state or illegal period?

I just drive w my fogs and low beams and they are way brighter than any other vehicle i have had. You can probably get away with hid's that 6000k and under, anything higher looks blueish purple and is a "pull me over" beacon for cops.

HID's are only legal if they are OEM. I find it odd that the KK headlights suck. My KJ lights kicked booty and my XK lights kick booty. Odd that they would screw it up on the KK.

The Middle is a Projector which correctly disperses the light from HIDs. On the right is Halogen which DOES NOT disperse the light correctly from HIDs. We have Halogens.

No,HID kits that do not replace the whole housing/projector are illegal in all 50 states. If you get a HID kit that replaces the whole headlight/projector it is legal and will have a DOT stamp, but those are the good kits with no issues and cost big $$$(not your $90 kits off fleabay).

Also some states it is illegal to have HID highbeams regardless of being OEM or not, which I believe no vehicle sold in the US has HID highbeams anyways, only low beams.

Just spent $80 on new head lights for the regular and the fog lights. i cant remember for the life of me the type but they were sylvania lights and were %35 brighter (says the package) than the OEM ones and WERE NOT BLUE..i freakin hate those blue lights.

I love em and they were easy as hell to do. :JEEPIN:

I had 6k with projectors put in mine (my brother in law does car audio and related for a living). I have low beam and high beam. I'm pretty sure they aren't legal too unless they are stock. But I don't put to much into my local officials knowing what is stock and not. MA state inspection is pretty strict though and I passed fine. They are adjusted down a bit and I almost never have used the high beams. I've had them since the beginning of the year and I only have been flashed by others a handful of times, not much more than usual. I hated the lack of light that came stock, but I really don't like the way the wanna be HIDs look. I'm really happy with my HIDs, they look nice on the KK with the big headlights and the chrome and it's much safer traveling at night.

Can you let us know where you got the projector style? I would be interested to see how much they are?

I will. I'll get back to you after my brother in law lets me know because I'm not sure where he got him. He ordered them through the guy he works for.

I just installed silver-stars, to try for myself and see what the difference is. I now know that they only warranty them for 12 months you give up live for light. Will it be worth it? let you know Friday.
And I get flashed all the time with my stock headlights.
