I was wondering if it possible to adjust the clutch on my 2003 jeep liberty. I know the clutch is about to die. When i shift, i have to put the clutch pedal all the way to the ground, then it is a pain in the butt to shift into 1st gear, 2nd gear. 3rd is ok, 4th also and 5th.

Any one have a suggestion?

thanks

No adjustments on the clutch for a KJ.

Just get a new clutch and slave cylinder.Just remember you can not machine the flywheel, either scuff up the old one slightly with 180 grit sand paper or buy a new flywheel.Your flywheel has a special dome shape to it that is required for proper clutch operation and machining it removes that dome and you will have issues.

Today, during the daylight, i went under the KJ and noticed that i am leaking fluid from the slave cyinder. I assume that this is the problem as to why i am having a hard time disengaged my gears.. any one else have a suggestion? the resivor tank is empty.. i assume it is the slave cylinder?

Sounds like the problem. I would replace the clutch and slave cylinder and the same time.(like Troy suggested) I changed the clutch on my son's truck and 6 months later had to take it all apart again to change out the slave cylinder.

The clutch slave is on the outside of the gearbox on a KJ. No need to take of anything else.

The master and slave is a prebled kit (when you get it from Jeep).

The slave is fitted with two nuts. So that's easy.

To bleed it is SOB job. That's why master and slave come as a kit with the line already fitted/fluid already in there. Go that way since the slave does not have a bleed valve!
