Hi to the Forum:

I have a 05 CRD with a Daystar lift (2 or 2.5" ?). I am wanting to put some Billstein shocks on but unable to find out which model I need. The dealer wants me to measure the extended and compressed lengths of the factory shocks to know which new ones I need. Anyone have this info or just know which model of Billsteins I need?

Thanks!

Bilstein BE5-D916 front shocks
For the rear, have them look up the Bilstein replacement shock for 99-04 Dakota 4WD or a 98-03 Durango 4WD. They will fit perfect and be the correct length for a lifted Liberty

Thanks!

Anyone else had experience with Billsteins for a lifted Libby?

I am running them on the front and love them. A couple others have them on all 4 corners and none have been dissapointed yet.

I only have experience with Bilsteins at stock ride height. I don't believe they make more than one model for the front of a KJ. At stock ride height, adding about 2.5" of medium density celastos to the fronts really helps control pitching at high speeds.

Texan: I'm confused about the Bilsteins for the rear.

The Dakota calls for BE5 2618 HO
The Durango calls for BE5 2790 HO

Will either of these work for the rear on my lifted Liberty? Is there something I am not understanding here?

Please help me clear up my confusion.

I would really like to try the Bilsteins!

I checked 4wheelparts.com and saw the same thing that you saw, but I also saw that the BE5 2617 HO was listed for both of them. I would assume that any of those 3 would work fine for the KJ.

I also know that F4-BE5-A702-H0 will fit. Those are the ones that Tommudd test fit a while back. Maybe PM Tom and see if he knows the difference between the 4 models listed...

Just to let you know when I was searching, the F4-BE5-2617-H0 are for the Durango FRONT... at least that is what it looks like. I am going with the BE5-A702 myself.

There are no extended front struts - they're all the same size

rears are only extended because Durango shocks are ~2" longer than KJ's and fit......

the 'lifted' KJ market is way too small for a manufacturer to make customs.

Don't have Billsteins on the Jeep - YET.

The first time I put Billsteins on my old pick-up, and sat in the truck, and drove it, the difference was so amazing, that I laughed really hard.

:-)r

Daddy needs a new pair of Billsteins!
