Well I have been going about 6000 miles on an oil change with Rotella 5W40 synthetic. What are the chances that someone has had the same oil analyzed and what was the results? Also what do most of you use for your change interval? thanks.

I had mine analyzed at that mileage and the results were great. I run 10k now.

I've never had my oil checked. But I've had two TDIs and driven over 100k each and used the recommended changes of 10K with Rotella and neither ever needed a drop between changes.

I've used Mobile 0w40 for all changes since new, and I shoot for 6-9k for my changes. Since my GDE tune, my oil is much cleaner. I'm still going strong at 89k The engine sounds smooth and there have been no leaks other than the turbo hoses.

thanks, I plan on getting the oil checked out soon but just wanted to see what some other are doing. I think I'll stick with the 6k for now.

X2, after 30 years of driving and maintaining vehicles, I never had an oil analysis done. I could buy alot of other things for $30, including a DIY oil change. Maybe when I buy a locomotive, or a ship where it costs $100s or $1000s of dollars to do an oil change, I will give the analysis a try? :ALONE:

A former member here showed me his oil analysis with Rotella after 10,000 miles and it looked perfect.
