i dont know why every is ragging on the guy... personally i'm glad he had the nuts to put 33's on. I'd love to put 33's on my jeep but i dont want to re-gear.. because i know i'd have to. But if he's comfortable without regears that's his choice. Our liberty's are how they are because of people pushing the limit. more KJ's with 33's the better. hopefully there is enough that 'trimming for 33's' gets to be a sticky and it's down to a science.. then a lot more people would be running them. Thanks Red!

and as far as weight blowing the CV's.. my 32in mud tires and steel wheels would be heavier then a 33in all terrain and alum. wheels. and 1in in height wouldnt be much of a difference.

I know someone that is at 23.5" from center of the hub to bottom of the flare that has snap crackle and popping CV's. This guy is claiming 24.25" It's not ragging it's facts. Our CV's cannot be pushed that far They will blow. I don't care if you put 37's on it if done properly the stock CV's could hold up to the stress of turning them but once you put that much of a bind on them it doesn't matter if you have 28" tires or 33's the CV's are going to be a problem.

I can tell you what happens at 23.5" of lift in the front and hard wheeling.....................................

Image

At about 24.5"-25" the KJ's front CV's are at max "flex" and your doing damage to them and other front drivetrain parts. If you could keep the CV's totally flat they will hold up to 35" tires with no issues.

I have one just like that that one Troy and that was only at 22 3/4" it took 7 months but it happened. I'm getting it figured out though. Thanks 2006 KJ :JEEPIN: pushing the limits of what my Libby can handle is what I'm about, Sure the OME setup was good with 31's but I'm the kind of person who isn't satisfied with good. I actually broke the Struts off last weekend yeah both of them. (Coil-overs,Shocks whatever you want to call them) I found a way to get the front to travel 2.5" further down than the Struts are long so I plan to space the whole assembly down 1.25" to make up for it. Re-Build is this weekend coming so we'll see how the new setup works hoepefully not as well as the last. I see a cradle drop in my near future as much as I don't want to loose the clearance gained by the 33's. I have sourced a set of 4.10's from a four cylinder and will be adding those and a Locker up front in the spring. I'm waiting for told ya..... 4.10's..... LMAO (I wouldn't be changing gears unless I was going to install the locker)

As far as Flex goes....... lol 3" rear bump stops on the lower spring pad that the factory hits into has always been there the only thing that limits my rear Flex is the shock length soon too be fixed by some Long Bilstiens or Doeschtech units. up front I'm going to cut the bumper out below the turn signals and wire in some Hella HIDs on the stocks switch as fogs closer to the middle JK Style. backside (Pinchweld side) of the wheel well is no issue I only used to hit the inner fender until I removed that, I also have to move the washer bottle but I have that covered with a YJ washer bottle setup. Sorry for the lack of pictures......
