Not a problem here, see my sig. I would rather blow a $50.00 CAC hose then a $5000.00 engine, but it has yet to be proven that the EHM will TRULY prevent CAC hose failure.

I just cut a couple of slices in the middle of the hose with a sharp knife. If the bottom end freezes the middle will act like a pressure relief.

I'm at 100k miles and my original CAC hoses look great. Been running EHM since about 12k miles.

Same here. A couple of small slices on the bottom of the hose, and another one up farther in case it does freeze up. Been running it like that for years.

Do it with a copper hard line and drill a few 1/8' holes in it for about the first 3 to 6 inchs and it shouldn't freeze up. Basically the same concept as the slits but just with copper hard line.

Same as audiboy86 but I drilled 6 holes on the top of the heater hose I use for the EHM.

FLMAN - if you have ever hooked up a ehm you would notice that there's oil dripping out the bottom, from the ccv, is this not proof that it works? The hose isnt fitted for the sole purpose of saving cac hoses. I know id rather spend $7 on a hose and fit it, rather than having the oil re-enter my intake and clogging the hell out of the MAF

Audiboy86 - lol @ gators, i was thinking about all the old people...i dont know which one is a bigger killer.

I played all them games with TDIs in the past, the EHM, the Old Navy separator, the epsilon device........ The best mod I ever made was to eliminate the TDI EGR, after that you cant plug up the intake manifold with the carbon, so removing the oil was not a factor any more, the oil has detergent in it that helps clean the intake and the MAP sensor. The MAP sensor is nothing more then a thermistor so a little oil on it is not going to hurt a thing.

One thing I don't miss about CCV mods is the fumes and the oil that drips out of the tube on the ground or your garage floor. Oil is a liquid and does not clog up any thing, oil and EGR fumes are the problem, they create black carbon when mixed.

Any ways what did you do about the blockage, did you cut slits in the hose, sounds like a good idea if you don't mind fumes coming out from under the hood?

I did it for that and i dont want all that crap going back through and coating the inside of my turbo
