An HD Frankenlift II Premium kit was recently installed on my 2007 KJ. After installation and a bit of driving, the front suspension still makes a clunking sound when hitting large speed bumps or dips. After pulling one of the wheels off and looking. It appears that the UCA is making contact with the bottom part of the spring assembly-small hard rubber or plastic at the bottom of the spring that sticks out a little. This seems to be what is making the noise.
I've read quite a bit on this forum and haven't seen mention of spring contact on the frankenlift. It's not really the spring, it's the piece at the bottom of the spring.
The sway bar has been taken off and put back on-everything seems fine when driving on smaller bumps or flat highways.

I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced this problem with the frankenlift? It looks like the spring assembly is a bit longer than the stock and has this extra piece at the bottom.
Al's UCA says that it gives 3/8 more strut clearance and eliminates the banging noises going down the road.
Does anyone know if this UCA gives enough clearance to eliminate the contact?
I know that the vehicle needs a new rim offset rim but will this UCA immediately contact the inside of the tire on a 245/75/16 or just get very close?
I'm asking these questions because I don't want to spend more money on these UCA and have them contact, just a little lower.

First, how many miles since it was installed
second, have you had it aligned yet
third, have you taken it out and really twisted it up and or seated the springs in good yet
if you've only driven it a short distance ( 100-200 miles, takes 800-1000 sometimes if only driving it on normal roads) and haven't really taken it on any big bumps etc it hasn't settled in yet.
The piece that is hitting is there for a reason and that is to prevent spring contact
Als arms do provide for extra clearance but should not be needed once the suspension is broken in good.

The lift has been installed for around 500 miles. May need some more miles
It has been aligned.
I took it down some very rough roads and twisted the suspensionup . It does seem to be settled.
After talking to boulderbars-they said basically same thing. The lower piece is there to reduce the sound of any contact-it's there for a reason.
Their recommendation was to take more things apart and retorque. The sound is likely elsewhere.

That sounds normal to me. Some KJs get more contact than others. Each Jeep is just a little different than the next. I have an 07 and from my experience, that year seems to have the UCA/Spring/spacer contact a little more than the older ones - especially more than the 02-04 Gen 1 models. Al's Arms will improve the clearance, but you may still get a little contact, depending on how much lift you end up with.

I'm showing 45 ft. lbs. Is that correct?
