Has anyone uconnect in an 08 sport? I have the basic radio but it does have a uconnect button. When I press the button a message come up on the radio screen which reads something along the lines of "option not available".

I thought I found a uconnect plug&play setup online but I think its only for GPS radios.....

Thanks!

hmmm mine is a sport 08 it is not plug and play if you buy the controller it plugs in the back of the radio inline of the stock plug. the controller mounts to the right of the glove box and that is where the ipod connection plugs in as well. the mic runs up the passanger piller and across the roof the the driver side piler. the i pod plug works right away but the uconnect does not you still have to take it to the dealer to get it activated, as well that they add it to the factory build list

Oh yea i knew about the dealer needing to activate it... i meant that its easy to install without any modifications.

I actually decided that im going to get my wife an aftermarket head unit that has bluetooth built in, and possibly navigation as well, for her birthday & mothers day this spring.

Adding the Mopar Uconnect was one of my first mods. I did it in about 4 hours, but I'm a slow worker. I spent at least an hour of that time deciding exactly where I wanted to mount the module behind the glove box so as not to interfere with the HVAC. Digger's how-to's in the Tech section were very, very helpful with the radio trim and pillar post trim pulling. I definately recommend reading them first.

I recommend checking out the Pioneer units. For a non Nav unit check out the 3200bt and with Nav the AVIC-X920bt. I ended up with the 920 and like it a lot.
