Has anyone else had their break? The part in question is the thing plastic cover that surrounds the shifter and slides forward and backward when you shift form Park down to 1. I shifted in reverse and when I put it back into park the cover was gone, lol. A small piece was left and it was super brittle....guessing the desert sun took it's toll. I am thinking about making a leather one but wondered if anyone else has had this problem or if I am the lucky one :)

I had mine break, i think mine broke from the bitter cold.... Where did yours break? Just the black plastic slide or the outer main piece? Dont know how you would go about making that piece out of leather unless your goal was more of a shift lever boot..

Here is where mine broke...

it would be more of a shift lever boot. We will see though...I figure I will get told to get it repaired ASAP when my wife drops her shades in it or her keys, lol.

The fake aluminum looking part is what broke on mine... I could make a design for a shift boot.. and send it on over! Have your wife be involved get her to sew it together
