max speed, about 9.7835721 mph
just enough that I can get a cold drink out of the back, walk up front and sit on the bumper as it putts down the beach on its own!
Working on a seat to fit on the ARB ya know

Don't mention cabin fever
people will start thinking they need to get out of the house,
then their 4 wheel drive starts to spin,
they then think should I lock it in or not
and how fast can I drive locked in
then we're right back where we started

Yep, you run out of octane at 87, unless you have premium gas... then you can go to 92 (or unless you have a diesel which does not need all the octane).

Oh, and it was about 78 here today, so I don't think I will be running into any snow.

Roads? Where we're going we don't need roads!

Quote:
Shifting between 2WD and 4 PART TIME can be made with the vehicle stopped or in motion. If the vehicle is in motion, shifts can be made up to 55 mph (88 km/h).

No mention of a maximum speed, however I agree with others who have said if you need 4WD you probably shouldn't be going much more than 55 anyways.

Regarding 4LO:

Quote:
Do not exceed 25 mph (40 km/h).

From 2005 owner's manual. Was that so hard? ;)

And, I agree completely with TJKJ2002 with regards to downshifting in 4WD to decelerate.

The above statement, along with others that have said similair are actually false.

Now if you know how to drive stopping on ice in 4wd is much quicker then in 2wd,even 2wd with ABS.I bet I can stop faster on ice in 4wd without barely using the brakes then you can in 2wd with ABS.It's called downshifting, does not work very well on quick decels in 2wd of course unless you like the rear axle passing the front real quick.

This does not work with full time 4wd and is not a reason to drive around all the time in part time 4wd(you will break stuff),and most importantly does not mean to speed in part time 4WD.If you need part time 4wd you should not be doing 40mph+.

Well I hit a patch of ice right before the stop light. And tjkj down shifting does work in most cases. But if anyone has driven a truck with an engine brake down shifting to slow down on ice while the brake is on is just about as bad as actually hitting the brakes. I guess I was just trying to make a point to not get over confident with 4wd.

I wouldn't suggest doing over 40 mph MAX in 4 WD-hi. I live in a rural area and the plow trucks get around to back here IF they think about it. Funny thing happens when you try the brakes in 4WD.... The front and rear ends may try to swap places !! Mine did on a few occasions, seems that since all 4 wheels are locked together then ALL 4 brakes see the same amount of braking force thru the driveline. Letting off the brakes corrected the problem immeadiately.

Currently our roads are sporting about 1/4 of solid ice on them.
