Is there a way to get the transfer case to shift from 2WD to full time 4WD instead of going to part time then to the full time setting ? I would think it would be a safer ride while in snow or black ice situations to get the advantage of full time 4WD and not shock the drive line with the part time 4WD setting and safer too.

It doesn't shock the drive line when you shift into or through PT into FT. I just make sure I'm driving in a straight line and pull through to FT without pausing in PT.

Also, this is a question for the 4wd and off road board, since it's not CRD related.

No
The shift lever positions are a function of the gear positions on the mainshaft
