Ok, rephrasing. Does anyone know if the wires that lead into the door (through the black rubber cover) can come out via clip to the body? It seem seems like it might be able to but I cant get a good enough visual angle to see if it is a male wire adapter or not. If anyone knows (or if anyone has had to have the doors removed to have new ones installed) could you please help me out? Im starting 2 projects involving the doors. Thanks!

Hmm, I have no idea what your trying to say. I think your question is, "can the wires going into the door be disconnected"? Is that what your trying to say? I do not believe they can.

I don't think they put the adapters there from the factory. You'll have to split and install those yourself.

Do I feel some open air cruising coming this summer? 8)

Yep. Thats the general idea. However, I am kinda worried about the unibody. If I take the doors off, I have heard that it can leave a sagging effect when the doors are replaced. I dont want that to happen if its going to actaully do damage to the Jeep (ie: door dosent seal so water gets in). Im also working on a set of 1/2 doors for trail riding. These doors should have DOM tubing to add strength to the frame.

I wouldnt think the libby would do that. Its the stongest "uni-frame" jeep they make. Open you door then flex the jeep and see if it closes good. If it doesnt then it may flex more than I thought. It doesnt pop like cherokees do when they flex, Im not telling you it will be fine, I would hate for you to warp the entire jeep.

I'm worried about going doorless in a unibody too. Might just be paranoia, but, like you said, I'd have to change the shape of the opening by hitting one good pothole and then not be able to properly reseat my door. It would be different if it were just a project rig, but this thing's gotta get me to work everyday too.

I like the half-door idea. 8)

You're small-time. Try opening the doors on a Postal Jeep sometime and go down the highway! :P
