My 06 Liberty ESP light comes on and then the vehicle is slowed down automatically, sometimes the ABS/ BAS light comes on as well.

Any advice thanks would be appreciated.

Could be the clock sensor behind the steering wheel. Basically it has a bad spot and makes you computer think the wheel is turned and that you are in a skid. Once is pulses the brakes and realizes it is a fault it sets a code and turns on the light. It cost me about 50 bucks for the part and maybe a half hour to replace. Oly hard part is getting the steering wheel off.

sounds like a wheel speed sensor to me. My 07's would randomly trigger the ABS, and the ESP lights turne dout to to a RF speed sensor.

A bad alignment will also cuase it, I had that happen when I put my lif ton and tried to drive to the shop.

Just posted myself to get some input. I've battled this for a year or so. It went away for a while when I beleive they replaced the BCM (Brake control module?) Was gone most of last winter and all of the summer. But its back. Steering wheel clock sensor and wheel sensors are all very likely in my experience previous to the BCM.

I just wonder due to my on going issue, if something further up is frying them or whatever.

Did you have any wet\snowy conditions?

Mine acts up here and there and has been worse pre-alignment, post lift(2 days). Its getting an alignment now. I'll try for the steering angle sensor next.

take it somewhere to get the codes read. Will at least let you know which system has the problem.

My current issue is the ABS sensor and the wires connected to it, all corroded and junk :(

When I have had issues with those, it was always due to alignment being out. Get a GOOD alignment, and see if that fixes it first.
