So I wake up at 4:00am to go to work. Feed the dog. Walk him in the hellish blizzard we were in the middle of and start to shovel. Turn around after about 10' and see that everything I shoveld already had another inch of snow on it. End up shoveling the sidewalk/driveway 3 times before giving up (you can get a ticket here if you don't shovel the sidewalk infront of your house). And get ready for work.
It normally takes me 20 minutes to get to work. Today it took me 1 hour 15 minutes. When I get there I call my boss and ask why the parking lot wasn't plowed and why nobody else was there. The response he gives me is, "We're closed today, I told everyone yesterday before they left." I then proceed to tell him that he left work long before I ever got back to the shop and his response is "Oh." Then silence. (Disclaimer: Yesterday afternoon I looked at today's schedule which has everyone working with no mention of being closed tomorrow and this company has NEVER closed due to weather in the 10 years I've worked there.)
So then I proceed to drive home on the worst roads I have ever driven on. Most of the way I couldn't see past the hood of the Jeep. Took me 1 hour 45 minutes to get home. Then I have to shovel again (4th time).
How did the Jeep handle you ask?
AWFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I had if 4 wheel drive on the back roads near my house and couldn't get any traction anywhere. I put it back into 2 wheel drive on the highway since if none of the wheels have traction, then whats the point so I might as well try to save some gas. I know it's not the Jeep. I still have the Wrangler ST's on it because I don't want to buy new tires until I get my lift in, which I can't get on because I don't have a garage and now there's 4' of snow everywhere. The only place I found that said they could put it in quoted me $800 and they would need the Jeep for 2 days. This was after he asked me what the hell a Clevis fork was. Absolutely notihng is going right.
Oh, and I just got done shoveling for the 5th time.
Sorry for the long rant. I've reached my breaking point living in this awful state.
Anyone know of any companies in Georgia/South Carolina hiring?
