Hey guys/gals,
Getting ready for my 3rd drive across the country from Pittsburgh to Los Angeles. This will be the first time doing it in the winter. I am taking the more southern route. 70 to 40, etc. I am wondering what you all recommend I get checked and bring with me. I am more concerned with the weather this time. I have the lifted 4x4 with General Grabber ATs. Is it important for me to still bring chains just in case? Im not even sure how to put them on. Its probably not necessary but wanted to hear opinions
Thanks

I recommend chains in case they are called for up in the Rockies. They are mandatory if the weather is bad and they call for them. Practice putting them on.

Remember AT's are not snow tires (Blizzaks). Blankets, plenty of drinking water & energy bars, box of clay clumping kitty litter, shovel, full winter clothing (gloves, wool socks, boots, sock hat or bacclava, layers), All your important fluids for Jeep, 1st aid kit, chemical heat packs sold at sporting goods stores for hands & feet, typical tools needed for repairs.

I've always read chains or 4WD in the notices... I don't remember a chains requirement for 4WD.
