so i reallllly love the look of black wheels. but my budget has severely changed due to going for the 2010 4x4 Sport KK instead of a older KJ Renny or Ltd.
So this may sound like a dumb question... but i want to black the wheels

can i just have my rims painted? (and at the same time have the dude paint my ski box that i want to put or anything else that i want to match?)
how much will that cost?

or do i have to buy wheels? without a lift whats the cheapest i can get black wheels and beefier (snow) tires?
whats my cheapest option?

i'll probly do this in the summer. but whats the cost going to be?

A professional paint job on your wheels that will last will cost some $$$,a few more dollars and you can buy a set of black rims.Sure you can rattle can them for cheap but it never lasts and usually doesn't look very good.

A set of cragar black rims will probably be the cheapest at $60-$75 per wheel. Just start saving now and by the time you need new tires just do it all at once. Or.. Kmart has some sweet snap on plastic spinners, but if you did that you would be copying me :ROTFL:

15" wheels are a no go they wont fit over the brakes. You could paint your rims, jus sand them first, tape off everything, two light coats primer, three light coats paint, three light coats clear. Wetsand and polish. But tjkj2002 is right, they wont last forever.

15 inch wheel would work but you need to have at least 4 inches of back space. Without a lift that would cause issues with a lot of rubbing in the wheel wells, that you don't really need.

You CAN paint them. And they WILL look good/last. BUT, you have to do it properly, take your time, patience is key.

In the end,
You're better off buying cheaper rims, in a 16x7 (which is the stock size).
Then when you lift and get bigger tires, you use the same rims. One step at a time, done correctly.
Like TJKJ said, Unique Wheels is probably one of the better ways to go.

Good luck! 8)

Think about it this way, go the route troy suggests, then turn around and sell your stock rims, it'll cover some of the costs

Yeah you can pick up a set of craggers for pretty cheap. Could even find a used set in decent shape too. Just check out ebay, craigslist in our area, etc. I've been throwing cash every month into my play toy fund for when I get back from deployment. Looking at getting blacked moabs myself.

As far as spinners on a KK, I would probably poo myself if I ever saw that... But hey I can't judge.
