Does anyone else have U-Connect in their Jeeps? It is the program that allows you to sync your phone contacts to the radio and talk through the speakers.

I was just curious how you like it and is it useful. Also, what was the cost to set that up? Thanks!

I've got it in my '11 Renegade....The bluetooth aspect works great on my iphone 4, but everything else of the uconnect is kind of annoying....But I think that if you're going to be on the phone while driving you need some sort of bluetooth device, and this works like a charm...you dont have to shout to be heard, and it's super easy to sync.

just my 2 cents..

What do you mean, everything else about Uconnect is annoying?

Was there an extra charge to get this hooked up when you bought your Jeep?

Our Jeep came with it..

The phone connection is great.

Looking up your addess through the radio is the worse bit of programming I have ever seen...
The voice system needs work as well, but it is not that bad.

Like if you push the connect but it asks you what you want to do, to change radio stations, make a call, switch device inputs, etc. and frankly, I don't need to change the radio through voice command, so i find that part a little annoying, but DEF. tolerable for the phone connection. It is a plus when you can stream music from iphone/ipod touch, through it though....def. can do neat things. But to me it's just gets annoying if I ever hit the uconnect button (rather than the phone button) because then I have to hear it talk to me....I dont even like my nav to talk to me, so it's all a matter of preference.

When I bought my Jeep it came with the Nav. Group package so they didnt charge me any different, so idk about install prices

BUT!!

JustForJeeps
has them for $230 and has install instructions with it, and doesnt look all too bad to do...seems pretty straight forward

iphone pshhh. (jk) with my droid 2 global i have the custom mount. which is great as it has the ball head. and is still fulllly useable. my jeep has an aux port so i use that into the droid.and the music and calls come through the stereo... shouting in the car works fine. but i use the blutooth head piece as voice commands and a headset. i can also voice command to google maps and navigation
Droid--> NAVIGATE TO--> gas station (or restaurant) it gives me user reviews and street view.

droid--> call (contact)

u dont need the bluetooth u connect. its completely superfluous unless ur dependent upon having your controls on ur steeringwheel.

True, but it was apart of the one that I found so I didnt really mind it :pepper:

But, as states more and more are requiring handsfree, it makes it convenient so that you don't have to remember a headset or anything..nothing to have stuck in your ear etc....Can def. live with out, but all depends on preference

I have it in my '10 and its great for phone calls. I dont use it for anything else. The voice commands just aren't refined enough for them to work well. They would probably work better if I did the voice training thing. The dealer said it would recognize what I say a lot better if I did it. The clarity is great and you can talk like the person is in the seat next to you and they can hear you perfectly. Its worth the money. I remember when I was buying my KK they told me that to have it put in after I bought the car would be really difficult because there are microphones all over the car. I dont really buy that because the only microphone ive ever found was in the rear view mirror.

i bought the modual i like it, you also need the modual if you wanted the i pod plug. the only complaint i have is it is not connecting to the speakers properly right now but im going in for warranty on it soon. easy to install but the dealer still has to activate it, and add it to the dealer installed options.

I found it here..http://www.justforjeeps.com/cesyuchafr.html

Is this something I can install myself if I am half tech literate? Then get the dealership to activate?
