Truck pointing downhill, I have drained the coolant, removed the lower hose and blown out as much coolant as I could using a shop vac.

Referenced from:
viewtopic.php?f=5&t=56486

The refill is only 9.5 liters out of a specified 12.5.
Are the specs wrong or does an amount still hide in the system? Anyone else measure what goes in?

It is coming up to spring soon; time to address this.
Happy 9 ºC (48 ºF) today in Victoria, Canada.

When I replaced my thermostat I used compressed air, NOT AT FULL PRESSURE, to get as much coolant out as possible

Including the bottle I was within a quart of the spec

I added one half the total capacity of G5 then added distilled water purchased from the drug store. Distilled water is cheap, under $2 a gallon, I can't understand why people would pay so much for a gallon jug half full of water :juggle:

I will say that the FSM disagrees with itself on coolant capacity. At one point it says 12.5L or 13qts; at another it says 12.5L or 11.8qts. 12.5L is really slightly over 13qts.

My '06 owner's manual says 13 qts, 12.5 liters.
