I second the Super 44. There's a previous thread where I post a link to the Super 44 Off Road Edition shipped for like 70 bucks

here's the super 44 at about 2100 RPM, gets louder and more distinctive the higher the RPM but I don't think I was doggin it in any of the videos I have currently

sounds more droney in the video than I identify it as

i don't notice it, never had problems with conversations with it - somewhere between not having really good hearing anyway, and being used to it I guess I don't hear the drone.. but with the cam near the windshield I heard it on the recording lol..

Image

click the pic it'll take you to the video

I went with the Supper 44 OR that Elt31987 posted in the other exhaust thread he mentions. Sounds great. I don't really notice any noise at all on the highway unless I punch it. I left the resonator on though.

One cool thing with the 44OR is when you are on the highway and open it up under load, you can really hear the air that is being pushed

is it just for the sound, or does it improve performance?

It does alter sound.... as far as MPGs go, it may help a little since you are removing some restriction from the exhaust system.

Sorry to veer off topic, but Digger, i see you have your shocks mounted boot side down. My skyjackers make an irritating squishy sound and I have them mounted the other way. Did you mount them that way to get rid of that?

No worries. Most Bilsteins are up/down oriented depending on how the label is mounted on the shock body.

I did run skyjackers at one time, and yes, boot side down is better.
