Good catch techman! Naaaaaa My bad! I wrote WJ instead of TJ (Wrangler), everybody knows about the Gran Cherokee tow capacity but the title of this threat involve only Liberty and Wrangler and a GC is a lot more expensive then a Liby...

The GC with a 3.0 MB is the expensive luxury Jeep you wich to get a deal on...For towing with class!

the towing capacity is one if the reasons that i picked up my WJ

my ex has a WJ, i could name a variety of posit... reason's that the WJ space wise trumps the KJ's

but that being said, WJ vs KJ it's really a usable space thing, I don't need the WJ extra space, nor do I want it, so I ended up with the KJ. 2d wranglers on the other hand, are a step farther

I've moved three times since i got my KJ, all three times I managed to fit all of my necessary belongings in the KJ (I don't move furniture, too cheap to rebuy them so I give it all away when I move)

It's rare that I ever feel like I wish I had something different, the only thing i really ever kicked myself for was forgetting to tell them to weld in a hitch receiver to my TR rear bumper

but.. that can be fixed later lol

I was looking into buying a Wrangler before I was looking into my Liberty. The Wrangler lost for a few reasons, the Wrangler could not tow as much as the Liberty can, the Wranger was stupid slow, and the ride was harsh to say the least. With that said, the Wrangler is light years ahead of the Liberty has far as off roading goes.

Difference between the two is nothing more than a matter of application and preference. Each as it's own plus' and minus'. I own an 06 CRD and when I bought new was for the diesel option.

I was looking at 4door wranglers before i got my KK. It needed to be a 4door for when we head to the mountains and stuff with 2 dogs and a family of 5 (mom, dad and 2 brothers) that comes with it. The price was way to much for me, 23k and up. I picked this liberty up 30k miles for 15,995, after tags and titles came to like 17k. Its more comfortable and has power windows, power locks, cruise control and fun stuff (none that i really wanted but the price was low enough, and i cant really complain being an '09 lol). I loved the Wrangler, always have. but im gonna wait till i get a real job and buy one and keep the liberty as well and play with that until then.

The only offroad vehicle you can compare a Wrangler with is a Land Rover Defender. Period.

Both build for only one purpose: Go offroad.

This thread is a good occasion to trow oil on fire! But the truth is all Jeep have there propose.

You buy a KJ if you want 5000Pds towing capacity and a Diesel option(2005/2006)

You buy a TJ for greater off road potential with a big after market support.

For off roading the TJ is the best bang for the buck in the Jeep line up , for towing the KJ is the best bang for the buck in the Jeep line up end of the story....Soooo don't compare apple and orange and don't play the "I'm the best in the west" game. A KJ will never beat a TJ at is game and a TJ will never tow a 21'+camping trailer "Legaly"

I have a dream....Chrysler decide to build a nice Jeep pickup with solid axel, diesel engine and a 7500Pds tow capacity....Code name OLXP.... (Old Skull Xtreme Pickup  )

Well the Gladiator project is suppose to be on sale next Fall (2012 model) just wish they make a hit with MultiAir technology or a Fiat diesel engine...+ tow capacity of a KJ

You really think so? I heard 2013 and no dealer around here knows anything about it...

I said **I have a dream!**and **It's suppose to be on sale next fall!** Based on what I read but I'm not Sergio Marchionne! If they ever produce a 2012 Gladiator I'm sure you will find a Pentastar V6 under the hood not a Diesel.

At the 2011 Detroit auto show, Sergio Marchionne said it would probably be a Wrangler-based vehicle with a short bed, and would not be called a pickup, presumably to calm Ram brand fears.

A short bed? Under 6 feets? A four doors version or a Avalanche look alike? Nope sorry I keep my KJ and look elsewhere for my next purchase.

With enough money a KJ can do everything that a XJ can... In theory Troys should be able to out do any XJ although there are no pics... the componants are all there.

Do you really think the KJ can keep up with the Wranger crowd?

For sure I wouldn't take this bet. If I were the XJ guy I would just find an off camber situation and it would be over, or at best the Libby would have some serious body damage.

Fun thread, wish we would see more Liberty's wheeling out here.
