I'm looking for new ideas to mount a firestik antenna. I've got the spare-tire CB mount that many of us started using a while back (goes onto one of the lug-nuts on the spare tire), but I'm going to be putting my spare tire up top until RockLizard's rear carrier is released.

So, anyone have pics of their CB mount's that wouldn't interfere with a swing-out rear-tire carrier? Details appreciated!

I mounted mine via a peice of angle iron that I mounted to the top bolts of the spare tire mount. You have to put it on a spring so you can fold it out of the way of the flipper glass. I have had great luck and I run a 6ft whip on mine.

I've got a similar setup on mine as Parakeet has but I've got a quick release on the antenna rather than a spring. Bought mine from http://www.arizonarockyroad.com/pages/1/index.htm (bottom of the page). I know there was some discussion in a thread about being able to make that but I live in an apartment and have no access to any tools to make such an item so I paid the $40 for the mount (which includes the price of the Firestik K4-8R18 coax assembly & 18 feet of cable). I'd suggest the mount if you're looking for something simple with no drilling.

This typ works real good -- it mounts between the rear gate and jamb - you can get it at any truck stop or RV supply place it comes in left or right side and dosent hender the rear window or the swing of the gate. and its made for a firestick.

Not to high-jack, but what are going to do with yours? If you will sell, I'm interested.

I'm ordering my CB next week. I think I'm going to go with Gringo Loco's mount setup.
