I have the new RHB Nav radio (which is freakin' awesome and 10x better then the RER Nav radio) in my 2011 Liberty and was wondering if anyone knew what the part number(s) is for the iPod kit for the radio.

I've done a brief search and really didn't come up with much. Here are some pics of the radio, my assumption would that the cable would plug into this open white plug.

I haven't seen the new one you have but can you not just plug in the iPod into a/the front USB jack?

You can plug it in the front USB but it will only charge it not stream the audio. The front USB is really only used to transfer files to the built on HD.

Ok, so thats essentially the same as the one in my '08. I use it to charge my DroidX and transfer files. I didn't know that an iPod unit even existed. I never use mine anymore.

Isnt there an 8.5mm headphone input on the front of the unit? get an 8.5mm to 8.5mm wire and use that. $10 vs. $100+ for the Ipod kit. Just my :2cents:

The iPod kit will give me better sound and will allow me to control the iPod from the radio. It will also charge the iPod while being used which is good for long road trips.

I decided to buy the new CHR550 Lockpick ... It now has full iPod/iPad/iPhone functions with full onscreen control. Along with all the other goodies you get with the Lockpick.

http://www.coastaletech.com/CHR550.htm

I ordered it today as soon as it comes in I will post a full review.

Ive never heard of those before but this seems really sweet. I just wonder how well it integrates itself. Good luck and don't forget to keep us updated!

The Lockpick has been around for a long time and it has been proven. It has had many improvements and updates since it first came out. It's seamless integration, they have install sheets you can download and videos you can watch to see it in action.

The Lockpick seems almost identical to the Blitzsafe I used in my Acura CLs a few years ago. To be able to control the iPod from the deck is well worth $100 if you ask me. I'm not so sure about $350 though. I suppose it does have a lot of functions.

Even on eBay MyGig RER radios are a little on the pricey side especially if you want the uConnect option. I'd much rather go with an aftermarket unit. You could get a top of line fully loaded Alpine or Pioneer unit with Touchscreen, DVD, Navigation, iPod, Sirius/XM and more for like $1500 give or take if you can work out a good enough deal with a local shop. AND you won't need to but something like the Lockpick to get everything to work while in motion.

If my Liberty didn't come with the MyGig the first trip out in it would be to my local shop for a fully loaded Alpine setup.

The Lockpick has A LOT of other functions that make it well worth the $350. Check out the video for the CHR550 and you'll see it's value.

I always felt Alpine had a great and very easy to use interface. I have a Pioneer AVIC in my Sprinter and it's ok. Could use some improvement but it works. I will agree that the MyGig interface is very user friendly and easy to use.

Thanks, I've got the toes to match ... wanna see :ROTFL: As soon as I posted that pic I thought one of the first comments was going to be that. I'm surprised it took this long.

My girlfriend is a good assistant. I had to do some work on her car too so she was like, I'll help you with yours but you need to do mine next ... That's how they get ya

Just as an FYI, if your RHB doesnt already have the "connectivity package" for bluetooth you will have to buy the mopar kit (which is specific to the 2011 models and way more expensive since they updated the canbus in 2011) the Lockpick doesnt add bluetooth to the RHB since it doesnt have the internals to support bluetooth thus the connectivity package or the mopar add on is needed... found this out the hard way and now I am waiting for the bluetooth kit to come off backorder in May
