Woohoo! Today I finally put my lift in! I was able to finish it alone in about 5.5 hrs, about the same number of beers, while making sure two young boys didnt disappear on me.

Lining up the clevis can be a challenge. I didnt think it would be a good idea to have my 6 year old start leaning on a prybar to line up the clevis, so I had to improvise. I used some heavy duty ratchet straps and atttched them to the control arms and clevis and ratched the thing into position. It worked like a charm. I was able to do that part in about 10 minutes. I was dreading that step after the lift party at Jeepin Al's, where Al was called on "clevis consult" for all three KJs we were lifting that day!

Just did 2 frankens today. It was about 45° out and that clevis WAS NOT gonna go on. We ended up dropping the lower control arms on both jeeps. It's very easy when you do that - but will require a preety immediate alignment.

I used a spring compressor on the LCA and the clevis, and then tightened it.

It clamped it all together. Go slowly so you don't overshoot the mark, and then just run the bolt through and tighten it.

I did the same thing on my lift install as well. Those ratchet straps worked very well.

I used a big set of C-Clamps to get mine lined up...a bit tricky, but did the trick.

Dave,Fish eye,
Where( How) exactly on the LCA and clevis did you put the ratchet straps?
I could not add a 4mm plate on the top of the strut the other day because of that f.. clevis-LCA alignment.
