So I did some searching in previous posts, but I couldn't find anyone who's had my problem. :( My compressor will cycle itself randomly (AC is turned off) everytime the KJ in running. It'll only cycle for about 5 seconds and then stop. Then I'll wait a minute or two and it'll cycle again for 5 sec and stop. It does this until I shut the engine off. It doesn't matter if the defrost is on or off, heater only, or just running the vents with cool/heated air. Is this normal? I do alot of mechanical work, but unfortunately don't know much about the proper functioning of AC systems. Any help would be appriciated. :D

The AC compressor is designed to run far more than you're giving it credit for.

So you mean that it's normal for the compressor to cycle when the AC is turned off?? :?

Think of your KJ as having Climate control..... The A/C compressor will run even if you have the heat on. If you turn the Mode selector completely off it will stop cycling. Original A/C compressor 250,000KM+ on mine

100% normal, the AC dry's the air which makes the defrost work much better since it dry's the air.

Thanks for the info. TJKJ 2002, I noticed that you have SD plates. You still living there? My wife and I are originally from there.
