Time for new tires and since i'm going bigger i need new rims as well. I have a 2.5 inch lift so if i go with 16x8's how much of a backspaceing do i need? I would like them to stick out a little more than they are now (running stock size with offroad tires), but not to much, either flush with the fender trim or mabe a little more. :JEEPIN:

Flush with the fender/flares would be 16X8 with 5 inches of back spacing, but you'll need some extra bumpstops in the rear and be ready to cut some on the front if you don't have an ARB bumper.
16X7 with 4 inches of backspacing works better and is better for any size tire we can run. There is no size of tire where you need an 8 inch wheel on a KJ

Doesn't say what kind of lift you have but best bet is the 245-75-16 with 16X7 4 inch backspacing combo
or just save money and run the wheels you have

Agree with Tom that if you have not bought wheels yet stick to 7" with 4" backspacing as it will save you some headaches. You should be able to run 245/75's with a minor amount of adjusting.

I have 16 x 8's with 4" backspacing. With the Frankenlift II I don't have any rubbing with the 235/70/16 BFG's I currently have mounted and it has a wide stance look.

I have however, a set of shiny new 245/75/16 MTR's that we are going to mount this weekend. I will then be able to tell you how much fender modification you are going to have to do to run 8" wheels.

In the rear it looks like we will just have to trim the plastic overhang from the fender flares that sticks to the inside of the wheel well and rear door (hokey design). Run your fingers on the inside of the wheel well opening and you will see what I mean. On the front it looks to be a significant cut just above the door for the fog light, I will let you know!

Moral of the story and I have mentioned this before, if I had it to do over again I would go for 7" wheels. But since I have spent the money a little trimming is going to happen.
