My wife and i are the proud owners of a previously loved 04 kj limited. We both have loved the wranglers and never really looked at the liberty as an option. recently we decided to get rid of her 04 mazda 6 wagon before it started to fall apart. We loved that car and had no problems but at 105000 miles we figured it was a good time to get something with less miles. we went to the woman that sold me my 2010 subaru forester (we are subaru people too!) and told her what we were looking for. we saw a wrangler on the lot and jokingly said "we like jeep too". a couple days later she said she had a liberty to show us. I looked up the liberty and its off road abilities on youtube and was VERY impressed with what they can do. I met my wife after work at the dealer and looked at it. It was an 04 (sport?) with 50000 miles. it road nice and had leather. It was owned by an old couple that towed it behind an RV most of the time. The leather was a little dried out from the sun but other than that it was pretty sweet. We said we would do it if they could get the payment we wanted but they couldn't so we passed.
a few days later i was looking for a truck instead (my wife would drive the forester and i would take the truck for work.) and i found an 04 4x4 limited liberty with 59000 miles. we already knew we liked the rig and they were able to make the numbers work at a much lower rate than the subaru dealer could so we got it.
Like i said, we love the wrangler and off roading but i think the liberty is almost a more practical wrangler... it can do almost anything AND hold 4 adults comfortably with better milage. We have only had it 5 days but we both love it and can not wait to start upgrading the crap out of it!!!
