Howdy fellas - long time no type.

Just creating this for documentation sake. This morning at ~75,350 miles, both the 4WD shift motor and the gate sensor failed. I don't expect they're related but both died within a mile of eachother. The gate sensor went first... pulled up to a stop light and the interior lights came on. Saw GATE on the dash - I knew the gate was closed but I hopped out and shut it again - the lights went off. But they came on again in a minute or two. Then off, on, off, on, off, etc... Then the SERV 4WD light came on. I tried shifting into 4WD but got no response. I knew the 4WD itself was fine - I use it every day and it's in great shape. I pulled over and shut the jeep off and restarted it. This time the SERV 4WD, 4WD LO, 4WD, and ESP lights were on and the dash read ESP OFF. I was only about 2 miles from the dealer so I changed direction and headed over there. They diagnosed the shift motor and gate sensor failures. Parts are available from Denver and I should be back in the jeep this evening. Nice having the Lifetime Max Care. I'm covered for the rental I'm driving now, plus since the gate and the 4wd are reported in the same 'visit', they fall under one $50 deductible.

More than every single day? I live 4 miles off road and work 1/2 mile off road. As measured by the hour, 50% of my driving is done off road.

Did you armor-all that intake? You weekenders have the cutest jeeps. :D

Nice, I also have the lifetime warranty. The last time they spend a few days with the kk I forgot about the rental use. I was not charged anything as ended out nothing was broke, just some parts wearing from the lift. They suggested I lower it until the noise disapeared. I lowered it 5/8" and it helped.
