UPDATE: As of today I can return to my reserve unit-active duty is pending. Worst case scenario I don't get active duty and end up in Iraq in October (at least it will be a change of scenery, can i get a hooah for no taxes). My unit is slated for Iraq in october...and I am doing the 91W thing...

I just won a new car on Ebay...she ain't pretty, but she's paid for in cold hard cash

I have downgraded to a clean 1984 Caprice Wagon...most people will see this as a joke on a Jeep forum but think of all the nifty things it has to offer: V8 power (mines got a 350 V8 4barrel), rear wheel drive, lots of room for parts, and easy to modify...I practically stole this car for the price I paid for it. Next paycheck I am getting an edelbrock intake, hooker headers, and doing a full tune-up. Think 300 horsepower full size wagon built for draggin. It will easily tow an XJ or ZJ, room for two small blocks in the back....

My buds have already nicknamed it the "Millenium Falcon"

She's got it where it counts kid!

Sorry to hear about your situation....it sucks. :(

I wouldn't bother pouring money into that new ride if you are going to save up for another Jeep. If I was you, and I couldn't go active, go on the deployment and SAVE YOUR MONEY. I have some friends in my unit that just came back from the sand box and didn't spend a penny of their $$$. Some of them made over 70K - All tax free. Just imagine what you could do to a KJ (or any Jeep for that matter) with that kind of money....

Anyways, good luck!

So your going to have to save that engine in the waggon. Your going to have to drop it in the KJ when you get another one!

when i am done painting the Tow Beast (the wagon) I will post pics...

I won't buy another KJ...sorry guys...I will probably end up with a ZJ just for something different then I already owned...

As for the Army-looks like I am out. I got my DD214 today :( Oh well. I need to wait 6 months and go through the whole enlistment spiel again to get yet another waiver for my back. I won't have to redo basic but I will take another AIT (seriously-I am not 42L material!!!). Part of me says run far far away from government services and take this oppurtunity to save my own hide. But then part of me (the one that guys that have wheeled with me, or know firsthand why they call me the Manic Mechanic) says get the hell back in the Army (maybe Marines...) and fight. It would be nice to be a vet with the rest of you servicemen.

At least it ain't terminal!
