Has anyone thought of mounting their CB at the front corner of the hood?

Right now I have a magnetic mount antenna, and I hate how it's scratching my paint. I had good luck with it stuck on my hood right on the drivers side, I bet the hood makes a great ground plane (if you ignore all the engine noise).

So anyway, has anyone tried anything with mounting to the grill in the front of the hood? It would keep the antenna low, but not entirely blocked by the jeep, and it'd be easy to keep an eye on it up there. I don't think it would block the view any more than a wiper blade would.

I modified a trunk mount the fit the hood just infrount and to the left of the drivers side and have a 0.5 SWR and a great planeand on the 06, the hood and all the engine has a braided ground straps so the noise is nothing, { I am useing the Wilson trunkmount ant. }
