Hello,
I'm the proud "new" owner of a '05 CRD Liberty and discovered after the fact that ABS was not standard equipment, even on the "limited" edition, resulting in a heavy *sigh* after buying it for its 4WD in the winter months (would be nice to have the ABS to match!!).
I've long desired to put ABS on my motorcycle (the smaller engine has this as an option) and recall that the swap could not be done due to the ECMs being different. I would hope this is not the case for the Jeep being that its an option on the same model!
I've attempted searching the forums for ABS and must be doing something wrong as I get 0 results, so apologies in advance for posting for information that is already out there.
I'm wanting to know if you can add ABS to this generation of Liberty's and how expensive and extensive the work is? And if it is something a home mechanic can tackle in a weekend.
Thanks,
-Eric

It would probably cost as much as buying my 06 CRD with ABS.

Not worth it and could not be done in your driveway without a DRBIII and custom PCM programming.Poeple went 90 years without ABS with no issues so no one should need it now, makes stopping take longer anyways.

Should have saved it,worth big $$$ to a junkyard/auto recylcer as they cost abouut $700 new for the brain part and about $400-$500 for the pump.
