Hi Folks

This may be a rehash, but I find this engineering flaw very irritating :furious: ...

Anyone else seen this???

The Jeep Liberty body has two sheet metal panels spot welded togeather with a thin coat of paint with the edge inline with the tire... It is like a sand blaster on the edge of the seam... Does not take long before rust starts to appear...

To correct the problem I will temporarly apply an aircraft corrision preventative compound and place rubber tirm aondg the metal. The aircraft corrision preventative compound is very good and has self-healing properties...

Hi Folks

Thanks for the fast reponse!!!!

It is missing from both sides... This is a 2008 model, is it possible that some did not have this installed?

It is still under warrenty and this should be covered...

Thanks for the part number...

Did you get it new in 08? If you've had it since 08 and never said anything I doubt they will cover it 3 years later. If you just got it used then yes they should cover that.

Those trim pieces both fell off my 08 at different times. Is it possible you missed em while someone was getting out of your backseat. I just glued mine back on and they've been fine since.

I am constantly pushing them back on for ours. I have been meaning to glue them on for a while now.
