I searched and have been looking at the varying opinions on towing with a lift. I have the OME heavy duty front and rear lift kit. I would like to tow a 5500# 22' prowler camper. I think it will be fine if i take it easy but I would like to hear everybody's opinion, even if it is beating the proverbial dead horse. Thanks in advance. I have an 02 KJ btw.

Yeah, I kind of figured that. It is actually 4654# dry and the GVW is #5500. I wouldn't load it up with over 300# pounds anyway. I'm going to check it out tomorrow to actually verify the tag on it says those weights and that the people aren't trying to pull one over on me. I know a guy that pulled one for years with no problems with an 02 libby. Obviously it's do at my own risk, i was just looking for experience from people who tow a lot.

How far are you pulling it? If it's just around town, or a short highway trip....it might work out. But, it's a risk....get pics if you do it though!

It would be a 2 hour trip at most. Mostly highway.

I went out to look at the camper this morning. It's very nice. the weight as it sits now is 4225#. I hitched up the jeep just to see how much it would sag and it wasn't as much as expected. the woman told me she would throw the equalizing hitch in for free. I'm fairly confident that i'll have no problems towing it. I am thinking of changing out the gears from 3.73 to either 3.90 or 4.10.

You should be fine. I trailered a 1996 Ford Ranger about 15 miles across town. This was with an aftermarket hitch. That was with stock coils and shocks at about 95,000 miles.
