About a week ago, my KK started an odd noise in the front right area.

When turning, at slow speeds (under 25?) there is a popping, err.... I can feel something. Not sure how to describe it.

First thoughts is CV joint. Is this a good possibility? If so, is it something that I should be able to fix myself?

I'm comfortable with mchanics, and could easily use a friend's garage... as the apartments frown upon fixing vehicles in the parking lot...

Any thoughts, suggestions?

If it is a constant pop while turning, it probably is a cv.

The R&I is simple.

1. using a 35mm or 36 mm, remove the outer retaining nut off of the half shaft stub.
2. remove wheel
3. pop tie rod end link off of the knuckle
4. pop the UCA off of the knucle
5. remove the clevis fork
6. remove the caliper off of the knuckle
6.1a disconnect abs wire..... I don't bother
7. pull knucle towards you while pushing on the half shaft stub at the hub. You may need a hammer to do this. If you use a hammer, thread the nut back on to the shaft to protect the threads.
8. once free from the hub, pry gentle on the half shaft using the axle tube as your back stop.

Thanks bro.

I'm not sure if it is or not, the noise (and feel) is kind of intermittent.

If it isn't a constant, I doubt it is a CV. Did you change any thing to the KK right before the noise popped up?
