Is anyone using this kit? http://www.teraflex.biz/kk-liberty-1-75 ... -2008.html

I like the idea of the OTT better than mashing my springs down with a spacer. Any drawbacks? I would be upgrading my current shocks & struts at the same time. I like that this kit comes with the proper bumpstop as well.

Oh, and for what it's worth, I'll likely wheel this Jeep very little over the next few years. I just want to add some larger tires.

For almost the same price, why not just get a set of old man emu springs?

Would be something to consider. I'm deathly afraid of losing the stock ride by changing springs though.

Do the OME springs really only lift 1.5" though??

People have observed an inch higher with the OME springs.

Why are you afraid of losing the stock ride?! The OME springs ride AND handle much better than stock! I can't WAIT until I order my set!

But which ones are recommended for a good ride with no body extras, i.e.: no heavy winch bumber, skids, none of that.? I'm assuming heavy duty would be inappropriate. I still want to retain my towing capabilities should I need to do so in the future, I just don't want a brick-like ride. Bare in mind, I'd also like to retain my 18"s wheels so a big squishy tire is also out of the question.

Would the OME light-duty springs still work for me or would that ruin my towing capacity?

The light duty will net you about 1.5" of lift and be 100% better ride then stock. The medium duty will give you about 2" of lift, and again 100% better ride. The HD coils will give you about 2.5" of lift with the best ride of the 3 choices. Will not kill towing until you add larger then stock tires without regearing.

Those OTT lifts are well known to kill front shocks on Liberty's,and rather fast.Even get killed fast with extended front bumpstops.

So even the HD coils will make it ride better than stock, not brick-like???

Not brick like but firmer which equals better ride, more controlled ride, and overall better for safety(braking and emergency lane changes).

Gotcha.

Well now you got me thinking. For the sake of the thread, I'd still like to know of anyone/everyone's "KK" experience with the OTT front lift. I still don't understand why they would kill the front shocks quicker, esp if they are bump-stopped correctly. Maybe I'm not fully understanding the geometry of the front end like I thought I did.

Also, my Liberty is currently lowered 2" on Eibach springs. While it loves the corners now, with the stock shocks suck for the application and it rides like crap over bumpy roads. My tires are about ready to be replaced and I want to lift it a bit over the stock height before doing so (again, to allow for larger tires). In the process, I'd like to get a nice ride back so I'll be doing new shocks as well.

There, now everyone knows I lowered a Jeep. Don't hit me. :dizzy:

Well if you did not install shorter shocks when you lowered it they are toast already and will need to be replaced anyways so a OTT spacer lift will really cost no more then going a full coil lift and new shocks. The crappy ride you are getting lowered will be the same way the OTT spacer lift will be in a few months, even with new shocks,it just maxes the shocks out even when just daily driving and kills the seals.Adding extended bumpstops just buys a few thousand miles at best.

Just asking if your lowered you'd have to get new coils anyways, why get stock coils then a spacer lift? Just be cheaper to get the lift coils and be done with it the right way the 1st time(and new shocks front and rear the correct length for the lift).

That's pretty much my plan at this point. I'm gonna go ahead and pop on the medium OME springs and a good set of shocks and be done with it. I did my XJ the right way. I guess I'm gonna do the same with the KK. The eibachs was essentially just for fun. That fun has past.
