Yup, it's been a while, eh. Lots of stuff been happening with me, but still have have the kj. My son and I are looking to move off Long island within the next couple of months and wherever we go, it's gonna be someplace where we're gonna need the kj (I telecommute and can live just about anywhere I can hook up to a broadband connection). We've been looking at places all over the country... Upstate NY, the Poconos, Mountains in NC and SW VA, Western Colorado, Utah (can you say MOAB?), Western Wyoming, Montana, you got it. Lots of places we like, but since we're planning on a buying a place, it's got to be affordable too--I don't want to spend anymore than 200k on a home.

Got to do some spring work on the kj also. Maybe fix a leak in the front diff, and change out the ecu. Frankenlift is still going strong though and train horn blows as loud as ever ;)

Anyway, thought I'd drop in and say hi, it's been a while.

SANTA! LOL

All I have to say is that Upstate New York is beautiful I can't wait to get back so my wife, son, and I can settle down. In the military they are all about moving I can't wait until I don't have to do it anymore!

Take it easy.

Colorado can't be beat - has it all, except for the ocean- there is a lot of SCUBA diving here though. Kinda odd.

Welcome back.

Yup, Santa, it's a long story ;)

Air Force, eh? Ramstein. I'm retired USAF myself, retired in '92 after 20. Spent almost 15 years in Europe, eight of which were in Germany at two different A-10 Forward Operating Locations (Noervenich, near Koeln, and Leipheim, near Ulm). Both those bases are closed now though. Been to Ramstein a number of times. Was also stationed at Camp New Amsterdam in Holland, Torrejon in Spain, and RAF Betwaters in the UK. Those were some intesrting times.

Anyway, I've got an '04 KJ, used to be a Rennie, but I've done so many mods to it that except for the light bar, you really couldn't tell anymore. Frankenlift (not too long after its introduction); 245/75/16 Firestone MTs; steel roof rack; Extremeaire Severe duty air compressor; K&N Air Charger; Mean Green Alternator; boulderbars, you know who's tranny skid plate;
yaddee, yaddee, yadda. Here's some older pix to give you an idea:

Oops, had to toss that last one in there ;)

Now that the kj's a few years older, I'll probably throw in some lockers, change out the bumpers, a-arms, and do something about that crappy front differential. Or I might trade it in for a good 4x4 truck ;)

Anyway, nice meeting you.

Where did you get those guages and trim? Can you get the trim with space for 3 gauges? I would like an EGT, Turbo and a Tranny Temp gauge for my CRD in a pillar mount. That would be nice. It would be nice to see that EGT when I push it, as well as when I shut down.

Jan,
I can't believe we haven't passed each other! Let's hook up. I'd love to see those rims in action. And you can check out my new Khaki colored ARB.

Move out west. I was in Utah this winter. NICE. Colorado is awesome.

Drop me a line. email me at adamisadam@opt... I'm in Melville.
