When i turn the wheel i just what wheels like a POP in my steering wheel and a loud clunk. It feels almost as though something is shifting. It happen s almost everytime i'm backing out of a spot and turn the wheel. i also feel it when going forward but its not nearly as pronounced. Could it be some type of bad joint? ball joint or u-joint? It all started happening after i went wheeling in Rausch Creek. I was going up hill and a spotter who was telling everyone to avoid a ditch turned to talk to someone and didnt steer me out of it so i stopped dead when i was doing about 5 mph up the obstacle. that thrrew off my alignment but the symptoms were not present then. it was after i got an alignment and my steering adjusted that this all started. any ideas? i need to fix this. thanks!

What year do you have? I know the 2008's steering rack was a little weaker than 2009 to present, and there have been reports of breakage. Have you looked to see if anything is bent or broken? Look at the tie rods and check your ball joints like this: viewtopic.php?f=3&t=4348
Also look at the lca mounts to see if anything got bent. I sure hope the alignment guys didn't f anything up since these symptoms started after they worked on it.

Good luck

I would be taking a close look at the CV joints.
Pretty easy to check as well.
Good luck...Whatever it is I hope it's an easy fix for ya!!

would Digger, TJKJ, or Tommudd chime in. I looked at everything today and noticed a few things. With weight on the vehicle when i pull in my drive way making a right turn there was no noise, but backing out and having the wheel cut to the right created the noise. with the truck lifted i noticed tht my steering contacted the front sway bar ( this may be normal but i dont know). I looked at my lower control arm bolts in the front and they were all the way towards the inner part of the vehicle for both arms. When i got my alignment my steering wheel was about 30Degrees to the right so the guy locked my wheels and turned. this in return straightened the wheels, i think it was tie rod related? i also noticed today that my UCA ball joint's boot was kinda popped off at the top were it meets the arm. I greased the fitted and grease poured out the top( i could get my finger in it). also i never pocketed where the JBA arms meet so i had contact in the past but i dont think that is what the issue is.
