Hi All,

First post on the forum. I've owned my Liberty about a week and a half now - love it! Has anyone bit the bullet and bought the factory service manual? The CD is about half what the paper copy costs. Approx. $90 versus $180. Can you print from the CD if you need relevant pages to carry out to the driveway? Is it in PDF form or what? Is the diesel info in a supplement or the main manual?

Yep, can print pages to your hearts content, just can't save anything to hard drive. PDF format, Acrobat 3.0 or later will run it, has 3.0 on the CD if you don't have it installed already. Diesel info is incorporated into the main manual.

Yes you can save it to a hard drive, thats how I use it. The version I have covers both gas and diesel. The part # 81-370-05060CD but I would not get this one, try for a newer one. This one is missing some stuff for the 2.8L CRD.

Also all hints of shareing should be done thru PM, as this form could get into BIG trouble.

n3qik,

I know this is off topic, but aren't you the guy that made you're own remote start? If so, how did you get around the sentry key? I see you're in Telford, you don't happen to work at Fresco do you?

Actually, my local Public Library has the 2006 Chiltons Big Book already. It has seperate info for the CRD diesel, and if you only need a page or 2, copies are pretty cheap. Might be a good way to go until the manual is readily available for the CRD itself.

I have found the SM 06 on CD for $180 and the printed book for $320. Anyone know of a cheaper place? If not I will have to get the CD-ROM.

Yes I did, What I did was to wrap 25 turns of wire around a spare key. Take each end and run a wire to a loop of wire that is 25 turns. That loop is then placed next to ignition key switch.

I work for Advanced Door Service, We fix the automatic doors you see in the stores.

Hey Maurauderer,

Is your Ebay service manual what it was supposed to be? In other words is it the factory manual? The only thing I see on Ebay that looks like a factory manual is from a seller called manuals-mopar. Is that where you got yours?
