Keith, your shop is located in Michigan right? If i can, i may try to drive over there with my CRD to have the TCM as well as the Hot tune installed once i get my euro torque converter. You wouldnt also happen to install torque converters would you?

Dang I want that GDE turbo kit... Keith, any chance you can do another run of those someday?

I might could go for the turbo kit too but I'd likely whimper for help from geordi on the install.

No worries on that. If we can convince Keith to do another run, I'd happily help you out on the install. Is it bad that I have figured it out to about a 3 hour job?

We have many customers drive-in for tuning, but we shy away from TC swaps as we do not have a lift at the moment. Any competent trans shop can do your TC install for around $600 or so.

We will be ordering another batch of turbo kits within the next couple months ans should have them ready by the November timeframe. Yes...the turbo kit is an order of magnitude better than the stock turbo!!

okay, just figured i'd ask :) . I'll hopefully be able to have the torque converter installed in a couple weeks(big chunk of change to throw out for the installation). then maybe in winter i'd be able to get the tunes in.

I run a two tank vegetable oil system and the GDE tune really smoothed out my ride, on diesel and grease.

I got the Eco-Tune Full Torque and the Trans Tune.
Mileage went up about 15%.
Some shudder, got better after tightened loose transmission to engine bolt.

Very pleased with my purchase. :)

Getting my GDE tune for my (sorry- Wife's) 2007 Grand Cherokee Diesel on Monday 08/29/2011. Can't wait to see the difference it makes with it.
Now all I have to do is find a Jeep Liberty Diesel, been looking for one for some time, but not having any luck yet. :dizzy:

ECO tune installed 2 months ago, and zero problems. I rocked a road trip to Iowa and got 32.4 mpg ( that's 65mph the entire way) and rolled 605 miles on a single tank of b10. I'm lucky enough to live in southeastern Michigan and have had unbelievable customer service. Had a serious timing belt emergency that GDE bailed me out big time. Cant wait to blow my TC so I can drop in the euro and upgrade to the HOT tune.

man, you guys are getting some incredible mileage.

im starting to wonder if i have brakes dragging or something. i sit around 600-650 KM per tank. its Much better then stock, but its not what some of you are getting.

Ideas?

Fuel filter new? What tires are you running? Thermostat working?

It's rare to see over 30 unless STOCK set up on tires/suspension, and staying at 65 on flat ground.

I wouldn't worry too much, especially if you use 4wd a lot, better MPG than any 4wd I've seen (not counting hybrid awd Ford Escape and such)

key to good mpg on the CRD's is skinny pedal. never go above 2000 rpms and i get about 19 town with 265-75-16's and im sittnig at 22 inches hub to flare with skids, sliders and other heavy stuff. but im an impatient driver so i frequently go over 2000 rpms(plus the sound with the straight pipe is amazing). Also, i have no tune, just stock f37'd TCM.

I basically agree, though might push that 2000 figure up a bit. I'm getting 28-29 mpg driving 74 mph at around 2200-2300 rpm. Even if I don't push it I drop to 25-26 in local driving. Like you say the key is to not stomp on it much. Those 265's of yours do more to kill mileage than anything else, but even with that setup I think you'd see a 3 mpg gain with a tune, plus gain power and smooth out the power band.

Skinny pedal is definitely the key. When I got 32mpg I drove the entire way to Iowa and wouldn't let the wife drive (she has a lead foot). 65 Cruize control the entire way, no exceptions. Also I have tires designed for the pavement (toyo open country highway). I leave the off roading to the Lifted TJ on toyo mud tires.

Alignment front and rear, worn out suspension bushings and balljoints front and rear, inflation pressure and type of tires, long time since tires rotated and rebalanced, factory shocks and spings worn out, bad CV joints front driveshaft, bad bearings rear diff.

All of above on mine. Afterwards, averaged 34.5 MPG on a 3 hour straight run from San Antonio to Hillsboro TX along I-35 on Wally World D2 on Aug 10th.

nope no tunes or regearing. Im hoping to order the tcm and either full torque or hot tune soon. Anybody know if i rented the tool if i could put it on two of our cars? meaning i could put the eco tune on both CRD's without having to order the eco tune twice?

edit: also, when im driving my normal self, i get about 16-17 mpg town. about 20-22 highway. when my dad drives it to the city back and forth he brings it up to about 24.
