I'm still a newbie to the jeep and collecting spare bits. :D
but have no fear, I'll have a "collection" going soon enough. trouble is I need to get rid of some other bits for a car of mine first I think. don't really need this extra 2.2L chrysler engine anymore I guess.

oh and actually any "spare" diffs i'd get I'd use to build up first with DTT's and then install them in the jeep. would make the installs go quicker and fits with my rule of never modifying a part without having an OEM replacement on hand just in case.

not knowing much about what the partss are worth that sounds like a pretty good deal. that's the complete diff housing, all the internals, etc? I'm trying to guess based on the pics of the new one I saw.

hahaha.. its spoiled!!! i think mine's in good hands. The guy that has it builds diffs for dirt track cars, sprint cars, street/hot rods, street cars, and drag cars with over 1000hp. Also with full coverage on my KJ if he totals it it'll make room for some BIG mods.... or new project :)

got it back... it is INCREDIBLE! i should've done this switch a looooong time ago. it's not the speed wagon it was stock but it's so easy to drive now. effortless in fact. i'll have to GPS my speed and check the rpm's... pretty sure my speedo is 5ish miles slow. it's not going to win any races... but like i said, it's SO nice to drive now! and the detroit is 100x better then my aussie was. i dont know its back there unless it's completely cut and i'm backing up it'll skid a tire. now to see what gas milage looks like.

it is... much much better. it was 'drive-able' before... and even more 'drive-able' with the factory alum. wheels and AT tires.. but with steel wheels and mud tires it lost even more power.

my favorite part of the gear change is the much improved crawl speed in 4 lo. i'll have to post a video.. it's prrreetttttyyyyy slow in 1st :)
