2005 kj stereo wiring affecting the remote key & pwr locks??

I recently purchased a new head unit for my 2005 liberty sport. i cut out the old harness to splice in the new one. Ever since I've done this the remote key and power locks have not worked. and my interior lights. Also the new deck wont turn on nor will the old deck now. I dont have alot of money to fix this so the dealer is not an option for me. I was wondering if anybody has had these problems and knows how to fix them?

Odds are you pinched a wire behind the head unit causing the short. . I did the same thing. The fuse was blowing every time I put a new one in. Took the head unit out and noticed the pinched wire that was causing the problem.

Could it be something to do with the CAN-bus system?

Thanks for the suggestions, I'm going to look for any pinched wires and into bypassing the can bus system. Would the liberty being a navigation model make any difference?

For like $12 Walmart sells plug and play wiring for putting in a new CD player. Its really easy, I have used them in a number of cars.
